On the road again....

Hi Friends and Family!

Hope you have all enjoyed the summer. In Namibia, I am finishing my holiday travels to Lesotho and Fish River Canyon.
Lesotho is a small country which is completely surrounded by South Africa. Its a beautiful land with lots of mountains and valleys, however its also very cold, being at such a high altitude. Some fellow volunteers and I did a four day pony trek, riding hourses into some pretty remote areas. One village we stayed at was a 5 hour walk to the nearest ROAD, and then people must still find transportation into town.
On the way back, I did a five day backpacking trip through Fish River Canyon, in the south of Namibia. This is the second biggest canyon in the world, after the Grand Canyon. It was a spectacular hike: I really enjoyed the views.
School has started up again, although I'm currently still in Windhoek making preparations for the return home. This is the last time I'll be together with all of my fellow volunteers, and it will be hard to say goodbye. However, I'm looking forward to finishing my work here and returning home.
Enjoy the pictures.
My trusty steed was named "Softie", but she was no softie. These Lesotho horses travel some tough, steep terrain.

A typical Lesotho hut, where we were accomodated overnight.

The start of Fish River Canyon hike: 90km in 5 days.
